When you are a chef, a baker, a coffee roaster, or anything else that involves selling a food or drink to hungry (and thirsty) people, you need images of your goodies. Bad quality images turn potential customers away, but great images sell themselves.
And make people drool.
Let's work together on-location - be it a studio, a rented farmhouse, or your restaurant - to get the food photos you need for your business. Your gallery of edited images will come a few weeks later, and with a few clicks you'll be ready to share with the world.
Make 'em drool.
Get started for $750, or $275 monthly.
Fill out the form below to let me know you're interested, then I'll send over a questionnaire: here's where you get to dish about what you want out of your photos! Everything from colors, styles, themes, and more. You'll even have a chance to share your Pinspiration with me so we know we're on the same page.
Walk through the process step-by-step below!
I'll send along a proposal and a client agreement for you to sign. Once your first payment is received, you'll get a link to schedule your session!
Together we'll work our magic to bring your vision to life!
Within days you'll receive a curated proofing gallery. Choose your favorite images - or upgrade to receive the entire gallery - and I'll spend the next two weeks editing. On delivery day, your images will be uploaded to your personal online gallery and you'll receive a private link and PIN for downloading.
Hooray! It's time to upload your images around the web. You're looking good with those shiny new photos on your website and social media!

I'd consider myself a small business food photographer; I work with small local establishments to shoot lifestyle food + drink photography.
Past and current clients include Catoctin Creek Distilling Co., Petite Loulou Crêperie, The Empress Pearl Tea, District Winery, Mason Dixie Biscuit Co., Cowbell Kitchen, Brew'd Coffee, Healthy Fresh Meals, Edible DC, and more.
We typically work on location, though for some items (non-perishables, cookies, packaged food and drinks) I've done them from my home studio setup.
Both! I typically work on location, though for some items (non-perishables, cookies, packaged food and drinks) I've done them from my home studio setup.
Most food and drink photo sessions take place on-location, i.e. the client's restaurant or kitchen. This will depend on several factors, such as the portability of the food/drink, and the preferred aesthetic for images. Most industrial kitchens are not photo session ready, so I only recommend them if we're using backdrops.
Items that are very portable (such as candies and baked goods) can be dropped off to be photographed in my studio, particularly if the images are flatlays.
Restaurant, café, and winery/brewery locations offer a sense of the actual environment and can be flexible with the addition of artificial lighting.
I am personally not a food stylist. I can (and do) style food for my shoots, but I am far from a professional-level food stylist.
If you want the food to be:
• plated just as it would be served to a customer;
• styled simply and naturally;
• photographed in a lifestyle setting;
you probably do not need the work of a food stylist.
However if you want the food to be:
• presented as a work of art;
• as perfect as possible;
• photographed close up for a very large print ad;
• styled in an artistic and editorial way;
then you likely will need the work of a high-level food photographer as well as a food stylist.
Don't hestiate to reach out to me if you have any questions about my scope of photography and food styling.
I've been there, done that, and it's a hard no from me.
I can shoot pre-made items (such as cookies) as well as packaged items from my home studio, however I will no longer be photographing any food or drink that requires preparation from my home studio.
For anything that requires preparation and cooking, we will need to do the shoot on-location.
What are the benefits of a subscription vs just booking multiple sessions through the year?
The number of final images included in a package depends on your shot list and/or your budget.
The most basic offering includes 15 final images which are chosen by you from a proofing gallery of approximately 25-35 images.
Once you've chosen your favorites, I work on post-production: color correcting for the most accurate color representation; removing dust and other irregularities; and so on. The final high-resolution images will be delivered within 14 business days of receiving your favorites list.
Instead of booking separate sessions through the year, I offer subscriptions where you'll get images delivered quarterly to your inbox.
What's the big deal? Let's make a list, shall we?
•Subscribers get four 3-hour sessions (one per quarter) at a discounted rate vs one-off sessions
•Subscribers don't have to choose their favorites from proofs - they always get the entire curated gallery of 25+ product photos edited within 7 business days of their shoot!
•A smaller, recurring monthly payment to make bookkeeping simple
•Subscriber-only stock library: over 200 images at no extra charge!
•20% discount on additional sessions and/or illustration commissions.
